Quebec adoption
CISSS staff receive adoption applications for children from Québec. They assess applicants or prospective parents who wish to adopt a child.
- Regular adoption involves adopting a child whose parents have signed a consent for adoption.
- Adoption through the mixed bank program involves committing with the goal of adopting a child who is followed by the Direction de la protection de la jeunesse and whose likelihood of adoption is high. Professionals develop a network of people prepared to act temporarily as a specific foster family for a child, with the aim of providing a permanent living environment.
People wishing to apply to adopt a child from Québec must contact the adoption service.
