Take part in the Screening Program : it’s your decision!

It’s very important to understand the benefits and potential drawbacks of breast cancer screening through mammography so that participation in the screening program is a free and informed choice. To help you make a decision, consult the following brochure:

Participation in the PQDCS requires signing a consent form at the time of your mammogram. By giving consent to participate in the PQDCS, you agree that certain healthcare professionals, the PQDCS coordinator in your region and the Institut national de santé publique du Québec may access some of your personal information.

Eligibility

The PQDCS is specifically for women aged 50 to 74 who are covered by the Québec public health insurance plan (RAMQ). This service is free. 

It’s recommended that women who have had breast cancer receive personalized medical follow-up based on their needs.

For women under 49 and those 75 and older, we invite you to discuss screening options with your family doctor or specialized nurse.
