Childhood immunization

All children should receive the vaccines recommended by the Québec Immunization Program, starting at the age of 2 months. These vaccines are free. By vaccinating your child, you’re giving them the best protection against certain serious diseases.

Since it’s important to respect the vaccination schedule to ensure maximum protection, we strongly recommend that you book an appointment as soon as possible after your child’s birth. When vaccinating your child, the nurse can offer advice about breastfeeding, diet and your child’s development, among other things.

Vaccinations for children aged 4 to 6, before starting kindergarten, are also offered during vaccination activities for babies and younger children.

Important

When you go to a vaccination clinic, it’s important to bring your vaccination booklet or your vaccination record of all your previous vaccinations. This will help us better assess your needs and complete the basic immunization. You can obtain your vaccination record by contacting the CLSC closest to where you lived during your childhood or any other location where you were vaccinated.
