Cervical cancer screening
The goal of cervical cancer screening is to prevent the development of this cancer and reduce the mortality and consequences associated with it. Screening detects a precursor to cancer (precancerous lesions) or cancer at an early stage, before symptoms appear, which increases the chances of recovery.
Eligibility
For individuals who are:
- age 25 to 65 and have not had an HPV test in more than 5 years or a Pap test in at least 3 years;
- immunocompromised, age 25 to 65, and have not had an HPV test in the past 3 years or a Pap test in the past year.
To book and appointment
- Visit Clic Santé under the “Screening” category.
- A toll-free phone line is also available: 1-888-862-3487, option 2.
You don’t need to travel for your appointment. During your appointment, a nurse will conduct a clinical assessment by phone. They will confirm whether you’re eligible for the service and, if so, determine the appropriate follow-up for your situation. Individuals who don’t meet the eligibility criteria will be refused.
