Shaken Baby Syndrome

The Programme périnatal de prévention du syndrome du bébé secoué (Perinatal Program to Prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome) provides parents with information to help them have healthy interactions with their newborn.

There’s an initial meeting with a nurse or midwife at the hospital or birthing centre following the delivery. A second meeting is planned during the postnatal home visit a few days after you return home.

The nurse or midwife provides you with information and answers your questions about your newborn’s crying, anger response, and shaken baby syndrome.

If you’re having particular challenges, you can have an additional meeting when your baby is between 4 and 6 weeks old.
