Intermediate resource for seniors

An intermediate resource (IR) is a private enterprise that is linked to Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux through an agreement. For individuals who are not able to live at home or in a private seniors’ residence, it provides a living environment, assistance services and transitional or long-term accommodation. The CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent provides the professional services.

The costs related to accommodation are determined by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux according to the person’s financial situation. Estimate the amount of your contribution.

To become an intermediate resource for seniors

To become an intermediate resource, you must apply through a public call for tenders available on the government of Québec website’s electronic tendering system (SEAO), either as an organization or as a legal or natural person.

It’s also possible to acquire an intermediate resource that’s already in operation, subject to two essential conditions:

  • Obtaining consent from the health and social services institution for the transfer of the contract between the institution and the seller
  • Obtaining recognition from the health and social services institution as an intermediate resource
