Bas-Saint-Laurent regional breastfeeding clinic
Since 2013, the Bas-Saint-Laurent regional breastfeeding clinic’s primary mission has been to provide breastfeeding consultations for mothers experiencing particularly persistent or complex difficulties that could not be resolved with frontline services (breastfeeding drop-in clinic, baby drop-in clinic, community breastfeeding support, nurse or lactation consultant).
This service is offered only to the Bas-Saint-Laurent population by referral from a physician, nurse, lactation consultant or midwife.
Other services offered
Prenatal consultation (if not offered as a frontline service in your region)
- For mothers with physical conditions that can affect breast milk production or who have had a previous difficult breastfeeding experience
Hospital consultation
- Possible consultation for children hospitalized in the neonatal, pediatric or obstetrics unit at Hôpital régional de Rimouski, by request of the treating physician or unit nurse
