Implementation of measures

The DPJ is responsible for ensuring follow-up on both voluntary and court-ordered measures. The implementation of measures involves providing the child and their parents with help and support, as well as carrying out supervision to end the situation that compromises the child’s safety or development and prevent it from recurring.

The DPJ must establish an intervention plan and, when necessary, call on partner services that may help the child or parents depending on the issues involved (e.g., substance use, physical or mental health, physical or intellectual disability, violence).

The child may receive follow-up care within their immediate family, extended family, foster family, an intermediate resource or a rehabilitation centre for youth with adjustment difficulties.
